Another great Italian workshop hosted by our favourite Italian chef, Stefano Salvati. This is your chance to learn the tricks of the pasta trade on this hands-on workshop.

Stefano will be showing you how to make the perfect pasta dough, how to flavour and fill pasta and how to create 3 different pasta shapes - tagliatelle, gnocchi and tortellini. He will also teach you the difference between other Italian pastas such as pappardelle and ravioli, and their history and what specific regions of Italy they come from!

Clavelshay Barn will be serving a delicious lunch, including some of Stefano's homemade pasta and local seasonal ingredients from the Somerset Region.


Pop-Up Pizza Night

We had a fantastic time last night here at Clavelshay. Our sold out  pop- up pizza night was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came along!

Our favourite Italian chef, Stefano Salvati, worked his pizza magic and made the most delicious wood fired pizzas we have ever tasted! And, thanks to this amazing summer weather we are having, we were able to enjoy alfresco style under the beautiful Somerset stars, listening to Italian tunes, and soaking up a real taste of Italy in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Pop-Up Italian Pizza Night

The authentically Neapolitan style pizzas such as the margarita pizza – juicy tomato sauce made from crushed organic plum tomatoes crowned with fresh basil and squares of melted buffalo mozzarella, and a selection of other tasty Italian pizzas, will be cooked in a wood fired oven and washed down with fantastic beer and wine specially selected by Sue, the owner of Clavelshay Barn.

All the pizzas will be keeping in their adherence to the Italian ethos that food should evoke the place where it’s served and the ingredients will be adapted to suit the seasonal availability and the feast will be full of authentic taste, traditions, and history of Stefano’s Italian region.

The pizzas will be served under the warm summer night sky – against the beautiful backdrop of the Somerset countryside. There will be plenty of conviviality, Italian music all for a totally homespun, heart-warming, belly-filling Italian evening.

Meet Stefano Salvati...

Meet local Italian chef Stefano Salvati owner of Stefano's Homemade Food and our Italian Bread Making Workshop instructor and get taste of what's to come during his fantastic one day workshop at Clavelshay Barn.

Stefano will talk you through the ‘all-Italian favourite breads’ process and will also be teaching you how to make the perfect pizza which will be eating for lunch alongside Clavelshay Barn's own own homemade bread and local seasonal ingredients.. With Stefano’s great understanding of Italy’s unique flour combinations and artisan techniques, you will quickly learn how to prepare the doughs for Italian traditional baked speciality breads such as Focaccia and Ciabatta. The workshop is very hands-on and will equip and encourage you to have fun at home experimenting with Italian bread. Hope you can join us!
