Local Somerset photographer Neil White, started his career assisting fashion and lifestyle photographers in Bristol before moving to London to work for the Burton Group as an in house photographer. After almost 5 years of London life and missing the green grass of home he moved back to the outskirts of Taunton where he now lives with his wife and 2 girls. His work spans across many sectors of commercial photography working for magazines, chefs and food manufacturers including Tom Aikens and Sharpham Park, through to fashion and lifestyle for high street names such as Ben Sherman and Debenhams.

This brilliant workshop with extremely talented local photographer Neil White is for anyone who has a keen interest in food photography. It may interest food bloggers, B&B owners and restaurant owners who would like to be able to create stronger images for their websites/printed literature themselves. You will need to bring a digital SLR camera with a standard or zoom lens. A tripod is not essential but preferable.
We will begin to piece together a ‘food story’. Food photography is not only about the finished dish, but also the process, ingredients and lifestyle which surround it. You will be shown ideas how to shoot the raw ingredients through to capturing the preparation of the food and finally shooting and styling the finished dish.
You will be shown how the use of props and textures can bring an image to life and how to manipulate natural and artificial light.
There will be plenty of hands-on camera work, showing you techniques which will elevate your images.
