From the aromas wafting from the kitchen, it would have been easy to imagine you were on the sunlit Amalfi coast where Chef Stefano Salvati used to live. The smell of chargrilled peppers, aubergines, courgettes, mushrooms and garlic assailed the senses and made my mouth water in anticipation. Aubergines thinly sliced, filled with mozzarella and covered in a rich tomato sauce …mmm
Stef spent all day in the kitchen making pasta, focaccia and filling the kitchen with Italian song while preparing the meal.
A full restaurant sat eagerly waiting for the start of the meal. A beautiful presented plate of antipasta arrived with olives and focaccia and was soon finished.
The second course of Stef’s pasta with prawns, tomato and rocket was full of flavour and colour.
Finished off with a light as air Lemoncello cake – delicious!
Everyone enjoyed the night so much, they are all asking when we are holding another one – watch this space!
Grazie mille Stefano!
