Had a day off yesterday to go and see Claire, my sister-in- law who lives near Usk in beautiful Wales.
Claire has recently had a serious operation and is recovering at home.
Not quite the relaxing drive I had hoped for ,as the farmers on hearing I was going to Wales, dispatched me to Newent(Glos) to pick up a vice for the workshop, which they had bought on e-bay. Saying it was not far out of my way was an understatement. Still, I enjoyed my detour with a 50 kg vice in my boot. As my mother-in-law says "vice is bad, advice is worse".
In a short visit we managed to buy a dress for me for my nephew's wedding , have tea out, shopping today in Abergavenny,( bought a fab cake knife for weddings and 2 books) and lunch out at The Angel. A quick run back down the motorway and now back to the farm to pick up my answerphone messages and numerous e-mails.
Back to work tonight as usual - refreshed and rareing to go..
